Rethunk and Redesigned (part 2).

I'm in love with Harry's, the Warby Parker offshoot focused on providing high quality, low cost shaving products. Reading about them immediately after a rough shave with my (many year old) Gillette Mach3 Turbo, I decided to give them a shot. At $15 shipped, the Truman Set was a no brainer. In fact, my shaving cream alone costs more than $10 (yeah, I buy fancy shaving cream), so the handle and blades were basically gravy.

I have to admit that I was excited to open the box. The packaging is simple and smartly done, the copy is witty, and everything is 100% on-brand (which I'm always impressed with). It was worth the order just to get this package delivered.

And then there was the shaving experience. It was a revelation. Harry's razor wasn't perfect, mind you, but I was shocked at how differently it felt on my face than my old Mach3...in a very good way. The problem I had, which many folks have also written about, was that the razors got clogged with my beard trimmings. I've got wookiee-esque facial hair, so it happens with competing products as well, and all it takes is a couple of taps against the sink to clear things up. Three close, comfortable shaves later, I'm hooked. A great product at a great price.

I continue to be blown away with all of the opportunities there still are to rethink and improve upon existing products. Warby Parker/Harry's, I have to hand it to you...this one is a job well done. But after one of your competitor's launched a new product today...you now have some catching up to do. I'll be waiting to see what your competing product might be...maybe Harry's Houdini (wow, that's terrible)? Anyway, I've officially tossed out my Gillette and have adopted a Harry. I can't wait to see what the team at Warby Parker does next.
